Lively Trips to Corfu
Corfu is an idylic island offering spectacular rugged cliffs on the western coast, a wide range of resorts, relaxing beaches dotted with parasols and sunloungers, idyllic villages , fertile valleys, verdant forests and mountains to the north with sweeping views of the island, the greek mainland, Albania and even Italy (from Mount Prantokrator) on a clear day. There are a huge choice of choices when it comes to taking in the sights of Corfu island. If you’re seeking a truely amazing and lively Greek island holiday then you’re destined to fall for the charming island of Corfu. In addition to the peaceful locations Corfu also features some lively resorts such as Kavos, Sidari and Kassiopi Corfu.
If you are seeking a full fortnight of sun and sand and you like to party by night and chill by day then the resort of Kavos at the southern end is your kind of place. The place is brimming with bars and clubs … and the bars and clubs are jammed with people whose idea of a superb time is likely to match your own. In Kavos, holidays neatly divide into two time zones – under-the-sun and after-dark. For the former there’s a stunning sandy beach stretching five miles from end to end – so loads of sun bathing places there. If you’ve got the energy to get active, there are watersports from pedaloes to parasailing. And while the beach is fairly narrow, its gentle fall into the Mediterranean offers broad shallows – ideal for laid back on a lilo.
Kavos also has loads of little beach shops, more than you’ll ever need, offering an array of shopping choices with everything from T-shirts to sun cream. In addition there are a couple of traditional tavernas, there are plenty of cafes faultless for grabbing some fast food or to try out an English breakfast – whenever you wake. So nosh can be very cheap. Kavos Corfu really comes alive after dark though. You should pace yourself in the clubs, pubs and bars if you like partying till the small hours. For twosomes on summer holidays to Kavos, the San Marina Hotel ticks those boxes. If you are seeking a last minute holiday to Kavos, there are usually loads of late deals.
Towards the north east side of the island there are also an array of resorts to suit every taste. The resort of Kassiopi is fairly lively but not in the same league as of Kavos. The tempo rises after dark when the youngsters troop to music bars and the families reveal an authentic taverna for food, drinking and discussing the holiday. Just around the coast is the resort of Sidari Corfu which offers clubs, bars, pubs and restaurants galore and an array of options to help you party dusk-till-dawn. Few will argue that Corfu has holidays to suit most tastes.
