30 Day No Sugar Challenge
Have you ever heard of the 30 Day No Sugar Challenge? The challenge is not to eat any sugar/sweetener for 30 days. However that is not enough for me. I’m going to take it up a step as well. Not only am I going to get rid of sweetener for the 1 month, I will be also eliminating various other things. And by other things I mean lots of my absolute favorites.
The reasons why am I doing this? I would like to observe how my body responds when i get rid of something which everyone knows is detrimental for people. After all seriously. Sweetener isn’t healthy or necessary for optimal health and wellness. Don’t get me wrong however. I enjoy delicious chocolate, soft serve ice cream, candy and other sweet things. But I understand they are bad for me and I commonly feel like crap when i eat them. Therefore , if I cut them out for thirty days I should feel significantly better. At the least that is the plan.
Besides sugar/sweeteners I am also planning to eliminate any of these: Grains, Beans, Dairy products, Alcohol consumption and Highly processed Foods. I know just what you are pondering: “Holy crap! What’s there remaining to eat?!?” The answer to that is a lot! I am going to consume genuine, great meals. Grass fed meats, wild caught seafood, pastured chickens and eggs. Lots of vegetables plus some fruits. High-quality fats such as olive and coconut oils. I like all that stuff anyway so I know I won’t become bored or starve to death.
I understand that it appears to be a little excessive but it’s only for 1 month. What’s the worst that can take place? I could go crazy I suppose. I could possibly get sugar/carb withdrawals and go off the deep end. I possibly could waste away to a hundred and fifty pounds. But I highly doubt that any of that will happen. I actually do anticipate that for the initial two weeks or so I am going to feel irritable, lethargic and generally moody (I bet my wife believes that I have already been carrying out this challenge for approximately the last 2 years!). But from then on I bet I’ll feel just great.
The purpose of doing this is to observe how my body acts to no “bad foods” for 1 month. It is not that lengthy a time to get rid of those foods but I do believe that it’s long enough to view results. So I’ll keep you posted. This ought to be entertaining.
