Is The Piano A Hard Instrument To Learn?
I’ll start off by saying that yes, the piano is the hardest instrument to learn (in my opinion). I know it looks easy when you watch people and it just looks like you need to press the keys in the right order and you make a nice tune, but there is so much more to it than that! The first stumbling block for most people is that they are going to get both hands doing different things, which most people have no experience with until they start learning the piano. So you could have one hand playing a tune off to the right, and then your left-hand is having to tap out a different tune entirely on the left to make the song work, which is really difficult.
The fact you have to have you hands doing different things is something most people miss when they watch someone play. The guitar is actually a bit easier in that respect, your left-hand does move between chords, but it is your right-hand that controls the rhythm, so you have one hand playing the tune and one assisting, rather than two playing their own tunes. It also means you need two lines of music, one for each hand, and you need to try and read them at the same time (don’t worry you just need a good course to follow like the one discussed in this Rocket piano review and you’ll get the hang of it).
So now you know how difficult it is going to be are you still interested? Most people don’t have the dedication to learn the piano if they didn’t already learn it growing up, but it is a fantastic instrument to be able to play, so if you do put in the work you will be richly rewarded in the end.
